Almost French Early Learning’s architect-designed, indoor and outdoor facilities create the perfect environment for children to explore, discover, create and imagine with their peers.
Our 3 level building has been designed by the best early-childhood landscape designers, and rooms have been designed with a child’s experience in mind.
0-2 years old children are on the ground floor, level 1 is for our 2-3 pre-kinder children, level 2 is our mixed 3 and 4 years old Kindergarten children. In 2024 we will continue to offer the free kindergarten offset.
We also have an art room accessible by all children and a library corner for special storytime.
Each level has a large outdoor area next to the rooms and level 3 is a large playground area called ‘Le jardin’ mainly to be used by our kindergarten children.

We are located at 20-26 Brighton Street, Richmond, down the road from Richmond Primary School. Nearby are the Church Street, Swan Street and Cremorne precincts. We are across the river from South Yarra, and 200 metres from the beautiful Barkly Gardens in Richmond.
Our neighbourhood is vibrant and friendly, filled with young families and workers in the creative and technology industries. We are proud to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people as the traditional custodians of these lands and waters.

We provide children attending Almost French Early Learning with healthy meals, made on-site in our kitchen. Our menu changes regularly and we are confident we can please even the most fussy child!

Our highly qualified and caring educators and teachers understand all too well the demands that are placed on families these days. At Almost French Early Learning we aim to take some of the stress out of life by providing a happy and nurturing environment for young children.
When you collect your child at the end of the day from Almost French Early Learning, you can rest assured that they have been exposed to a variety of experiences, eaten nutritious meals, and most importantly, had a fun-filled day! All of that with the add on bonus of the French language.

Almost French Early Learning’s curriculum draws on the best early education philosophies, including play-based learning and the Reggio Emilia approach. Our education program recognises each individual child’s needs, their different developmental stages, varied interests and we will work with your child to ensure that their needs are met with the appropriate education curriculum.
Almost French Early Learning follows the guidelines of the Victorian early years learning framework (VEYLF), the National Quality Framework (NQF)and the French Curriculum of ‘petite et moyenne section of maternelle’.
Children learn French through fun and challenging activities. We have a busy program, especially in our French immersion kinder room, which includes cooking, sport, art & craft, singing, a variety of games, STEAM and plenty of activities to develop literacy and numeracy skills… all in French! We pride ourselves in offering a safe and caring environment for your children and our program is designed to follow the children’s interests, therefore in constant evolution.
We also encourage the children to become more confident and independent in their daily life. Almost French includes families in their day to day practices and strongly value the community spirit.
